How to Improve Concentration in Salah

January 10, 2019 by admin

How to Improve Concentration in Salah, salah
Now the Question asked by almost all Muslims is “ how to concentrate on in Salah/Namaz? ”
The other day a person was asking me, you know what I cannot concentrate much in Salah.
can you give me a remedy for concentration in Salah?
You see Shaitaan is an expert in his field, he has Ph.D. in his field. what he does is, he knows that now you are trying to plug with Allah subhanahu wata’ala, so as you standing in salah and you say Allah Akbar he comes to you and he says; hey your phone is going to ring just now, so now you’re worried about your phone ringing, then he says you know it’s getting a bit late. so now you worried about the time, then he says immediately after this you have a meeting, so now you worried about the meeting, then he says you’re going to need to go and eat just now the food is getting cold, now you worried about the food and it’s getting cold,
then he says you know there is a sale some way down at the other shop you need to go and buy the stuff before it is sold out so now you worried about the sale and the products and Shaitaan keeps on distracting you and when the Imam says; Wa laddhaalin, we say Ameen. we don’t even know whether it’s the end of surah of the Fatiha or another verse in the Quran.
in Ramadan, I have witnessed the verses of the Quran that end with Waladhaalin, there are verses of the Quran that end with Waladhaalin so sometimes people are sleeping in Salah, literally sleeping and the Imam is not reading surat al-Fatihah, but in another place in the Quran and he says; Waladhaalin. and many brothers say; Ameen.
but hang on this is not even surah Fatiha, this is somewhere else in the Quran, but because we are tuned and saying that once you hear Waladhaalin, you must just say Waladhaalin that’s not what it is. it shows that concentration is zero. may Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’ala forgive us, you should concentrate on the words.
in order to maximize the concentration in Salah, there are many remedies that we are taught,

1. Learn The Meaning of Salah.

one of them is to try and understand what you are saying in Salah when you start with Allah Akbar, what is the dua you make? what does it mean? what am I saying in Surat al-fatiha?
When I go into Ruku’ and praise Allah SWT, what does it mean?
When I get up Sami’a Allahu Liman Hamidah, what does it mean why do I say rabbana walakal Hamd why do I say that?
so when you learn the meaning of Salah inshallah your concentration will be maximized because now you know what you say, if you don’t know the meaning, you just come forth and you just hear Waladhaalin and you say, Ameen, that’s the type of Salaah may Allah forgive us.
So you have to make a resolution, I want you to promise Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’ala that this Ramadan you will start learning Quran and the meanings of the Quran and Salah, the meaning of what you are saying in salah.
It’s easy to get books online you can google it, and when you get the source, make sure it’s an authentic source meaning of the words of Salah and go into it.
Start Today
if you want to start today so that at least with Ramadan comes, you will concentrate.
those who love the Quran or those who understand the Quran they love the recitation of the Quran because they know what it means. they are moved by it those who don’t understand the Quran and don’t want to understand it they become tired.

How to Encourage Children Towards Islam

November 30, 2018 by admin

Encouraging children towards Islam

Something very important and that is the principle of encouraging your children to love Islam. to love learning Islam this is something that I personally find to be somewhat deficient in the way that many of us deal with our children.
Sometimes you have some parents who are negligent, they just don’t teach children Quran and Islam, they don’t have any concern for their children to learn about Islam, their primary concern is their secular Dunya education and that’s what they put the pressure on, but you see some other parents who put so much pressure on their children that they push their children away from Islam, by putting enormous and unnecessary pressure upon their children when it comes to learning Quran and Islam.
You have to make people love Islam and want to study Islam, for that reason we don’t overburden with the number of classes that are taking place in a week, for example even when it comes to adults we don’t overburden people by having like eight hours of classes on a Friday and then you know two hours every single night.
why do we not overburden people? I mean the resources are there, but we don’t overburden people, because eventually you push people away, so it is important that when you think about your children and when you think about your children’s Islamic education, that you think about making them love Islam and instilling the love of Allah in their hearts.
The love of Allah Azza WA JAL is a fundamental principal it’s a fundamental part of la ilaha ill allah,
Allah SWT said: from man are those people who have taken partners besides Allah they love them as they should love Allah, but those who believe love Allah more.

Islamic education for kids

This is a fundamental proof for instilling the love of Allah into the hearts of ourselves and our children, and the love of Allah should be one of those fundamental driving forces in our lives to motivate us. not only the love of Allah, but also hope and fear.
Hope and fear in terms of hoping in Allah’s reward and fearing Allah’s punishment. and this is the secret behind the first three ayat of surah fatiha: al-hamdu lillahi rabbil alameen. Ar-rahmanir-rahim. Maliki Yawmiddin.
The first verse instills the love of Allah. Allah who raised you up and look after you and nurtured your Eman.
The second ayah instills the hope of Allah in your heart, in His mercy, in his forgiveness.
The third ayah instills the fear of Allah in your heart, that Allah is Maalik of doomsday, the fear of what will come on the day of the judgment, and the fear that allah subhanho wa taala will take you to account for what you do.
A similar kind of principle you want to still instill in our children, now hope and fear take time to build, they come with knowledge, they come with maturity, when children are very very young they might not fully understand, especially when they’re extremely young they might not fully understand what it means to hope in Allah’s reward or to fear Allah. but these are things that you’re constantly working on building in them, and above all the love of Allah azzawajal that they love Allah, that they love Islam, that they love Iman.
When Allah SWT said: Allah made Eman beloved to you, he made you love Iman, and he made it something beautiful in your heart, and that’s all we want to do it with our children, we want to be a cause for the love of Iman to enter into their hearts.
Now some of that is to do with reward and Punishment, so some of that is to do with rewarding them for Islamic achievements, rather than Dunya based achievements because when you do this you are setting the standard, that Islam is what matters. Yes, I’m worried about your education, I want you to do well, but what really matters to me is Islam. that’s why your success in your Islamic studies I’m going to reward it many times more than I reward your success for example in your secular studies.

Quran Memorization Techniques

May 16, 2018 by admin

Quran memorization techniques, memorize quran kids, adults, female
When you memorize Quran the first thing for you need to have is, to get yourself a Quran teacher or attend online Quran classes where you can memorize the Quran, now the reason for that is because we’ve come to notice that memorizing the Quran or reciting the Quran, both have intertwined into one another and sometimes it’s easy to mispronounce certain sounds and letters when you’re learning to memorize the Quran, because you’re just concentrating on repeating what you’re hearing, so having a teacher there is really going to help and support you, because when you make mistakes they’re going to be able to correct you and because most likely for the of time our online Quran teachers have been doing this for years and they themselves have memorized the entire Quran. They will be going to give you tips that are going to help you to improve your Quran memorization as well.
The second thing about having our online Quran teacher is that it’s going to help keep you accountable.
we all know that there has been sometimes in our lives and we’ve tried to memorize the Quran before but because we were doing it on our own and nobody was holding us accountable. For example we said we were gonna read Quran that particular time or we’re gonna set out a particular time out of our day to learn the Quran and then we get busy, life gets in the way and it ends up not happening and we kind of fall off the bandwagon from there onwards, so when you know that you have an online Quran memorization class with Tajweed for exmaple if your class is five o’clock Sunday afternoon or whatever, then you know that, that time you have to show up and if you don’t show up then online Quran tutor is going to ask you that where were you? so it helps to keep you accountable. It’s sort of keeping you on track with your Quran memorization as well.
Also in some cases, we provide you the opportunity to have other people (students of Quran) who will support you in the classroom as well so you can also be doing it together with other than your class time, so you don’t feel so alone in the journey. so you can join a Quran a class that should help a lot inshallah.

How to Memorize your New Lessons/Homework:

Memorizing the Quran is all about repeating, repeat, and repeat, according to psychology when it comes to memory, the only way you can consolidate a memory is by:
Number one repeating
Number two consolidating it through Association
So basically the repetition method goes like this you begin with your first ayah/verse and you say that 10 to 30 times if not more, you will hear some people recommending you repeating it even more than that. so let’s say you repeat the first ayah of Surah Fatiha 10 to 30 times, until you feel you’ve kind of got it together, then you move on to the second ayah of the quran and you say that another 10 to 30 times then you go back to the first ayah/verse and recite it once then go back to your second ayah recite it once and then move on to your third Ayah/verse recite that again 10 to 30 times, so you’re adding along every time you go on, I hope this is making sense for basically repetition is the best way to memorize anything.
The second part of consolidating information is through association which helps you to memorize Quran online, now association comes through understanding and if you understand what you’re saying then it’s a lot more easier for you to learn and memorize Quran with tajweed, because obviously, you’re going to get a storyline as you’re building up, so let’s take Sarah Yusuf for example, you begin reading surah yousuf and then you’re reading about the part where Prophet Yusuf AS tells his dad that he has a dream and there suddenly he dropped onto an ayah where he’s in prison, if you know what those ayahs are saying then you’re going to be like, “wait no I’m not here, I was reading another part” and that’s the wrong area, because you’ve learnt the sequence of events and you understand what you’re saying.

Worships in Laylatul-Qadr (Ibadah)

May 11, 2017 by admin

What is Laylatul-Qadr?

Laylatul-Qadr is the most blessed night. Someone who misses it has indeed missed a fantastic quantity of virtues. If a believer is eager to obey his Lord and increase the good deeds in his book, he ought to try to spend this night time in worship and obedience. If that is possible for him, all of his preceding sins could be forgiven.

Prayers (Salah)

It is appreciated to make a long Qiyam prayer during the nights on which Laylatul-Qadr should fall. This is indicated in many Ahadith, which include the subsequent:

Abu Dharr (Radhiyallahu anh) relates: “We fasted with Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in Ramadan. He did not lead us in Qiyam (night time Vigil Prayer) at all till there have been seven nights of Ramadan left. Then he stood with us (that night, in Prayer) till one third of the night had passed. He did no longer pray with us on the 6th.

At the 5th night time, he prayed with us till half of the night had exceeded. So we said, ‘Allah’s Messenger! Wouldn’t you pray with us the entire night time?’ He replied, ‘Whoever stands in Prayer with Imam till he (the Imam) concludes the Prayer, it’ll be recorded for him that he prayed the complete night time…” (Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi)

Abu Dawud noted, “I heard Ahmad being asked, ‘Do you want for a person to wish with the human beings or via himself at some stage in Ramadan?’ He responded, ‘Pray with the human beings’ I also heard him say, ‘i’d select for one to wish Qiyam with Imam and to wish Witr with him as well, for the Prophet (peace be upon him) stated, “when anyone prays with the Imam until he finishes, he’ll earn the reward of praying the whole night.”

Abu Hurairah (Radhi Allah anh) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever stands (in Qiyam) in Laylatul-Qadr(and it’s far facilitated for him) out of faith and expectation of Allah’s reward, all of his preceding sins will be forgiven.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The word “and it is facilitated for him”, means that someone is allowed to be among the honest worshippers at some point of that blessed night.

Ulama also recommend to pray salatul tasbeeh in laylatul qadr, click below image to learn how to perform it…

Making Supplications:

it is also advocated to make enormous supplication on this night. `
A’ishah (Radhi Allahu Anha) narrated that she requested the Prophet (peace and advantages be upon him) “O Messenger of Allah(PBUH)! If I knew which night is Laylatul-Qadr, what need to I say at some point of it?”
And he taught her to make this Dua: “Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee (O Allah! You are Oft-Forgiving, and you love forgiveness. So forgive me).”

(Ahmad, Ibn Majah and At-Tirmithi)

Leaving behind Worldly Pleasures for the Sake of Worship:

it is further advocated to spend greater time in worship for the duration of the nights on whichLaylatul-Qadr is probably to be. This calls for forsaking many worldly pleasures in an effort to save the time and thoughts entirely for worshipping Allah.

This is primarily based on the following Hadith narrated through `A’ishah (Radhi Allahu anha): “Upon stepping into the remaining ten (of Ramadan), the Prophet (peace and be upon him) could tighten his Izar (i.e. He stayed far from his better halves so as to have greater time for worship), spend the complete night wakeful (in Prayer), and awaken his family.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) She also said, “Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to exert greater efforts (in worship) at the remaining ten than on other nights.” (Muslim)

Fasting 6 Days of Shawwal

May 11, 2017 by admin

Hadhrat Ayyub (Radhiyallahu anh) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,
“Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days from Shawwal it is as though he fasted the entire year.” [Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah; Ahmad transmitted it from Jabir, Muntaqa]

Hadhrat Thawban (R A) reports that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him,) said,
“Whoever fasts Ramadan, after which six days after Eid, it’s miles an entire 12 months. Whoever does a terrific deed shall have ten instances its reward.” [Ibn Majah, Muntaqa]

Important:
1. Primarily based in this, most of the scholars, including the Ahnaf, Shawafe`, and Hanabilah school, have held that it is endorsed to have soum (fast) six days of the month of Shawwal. [Radd al-Muhtar; Mughni al-Muhtaj Shah al-Minhaj; Kashshaf al-Qina`]
2. It’s far approved to fast six days of shawwal one after the other for the duration of the month, or sequentially together , after Eid al-Fitr.
3. It’s prohibitively undesirable (Makrooh) to fast on the day of Eid and sinful. [Radd al-Muhtar]
4. The Shawafe’ and Hanabila school of thought says that it’s far superior to make the six fasts together [Minhaj, Ghayat al-Muntaha]. Khatib al-Shirbini explains the reasoning as being,
“with a view to hasten to do the good deed, and due to the issues inevitable in delaying,”
Inclusive of turning into lazy and not truely pleasant this sunnah ultimately, although he points out that the sunnah is fulfilled through both consecutive and non-consecutive fasting of six days in Shawwal. [Mughni al-Muhtaj]
The later Hanafi fuqaha differed as to that’s higher, fasting the six days together or individually , though neither is makrooh and each fulfill the sunnah. [Radd al-Muhtar]
but, for those Muslim brothers and sisters who have fear that they won’t be able to fast if they delay it because of laziness or any other reasons they could fast right after Eid and they could fast 6 days of shawal right after Eid.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (Allah be thrilled with him) narrated that the holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) stated,
“The strong believer is better and more cherished to Allah than the weak believer, though there is right in each. Be eager for that which advantages you. trust upon Allah and don’t assume yourself incapable…” [Muslim:4816, Ibn Majah:76, Ahmad:8436]
Imam Nawawi (Allah have mercy on him) defined that the ‘energy’ in this hadith refers to, “One’s determination and potential in matters of the following life.”
